Hicksville Pines Wedding
Let’s get funky. This Hicksville Pines wedding is a vibe and I was blessed to photograph a day a bit untraditional. What better place to make your DIY wedding than in this eccentric compound nestled in the mountains of Idyllwild, CA. Hicksville Pines serves as a bed and breakfast (or should we say bud and breakfast) with each cabin having it’s own theme. Perfect for those seeking a weekend-long wedding/getaway with fam and friends. Grace and Ryan did it right.
The Couple
“So we met in a pretty interesting way (very long insane story) but to sum it up, we were friends for 5 years, and one night (August 6th, 2019) we just looked at each other and at the same time , same moment, something clicked and we realized we were soulmates! Honestly, we knew we wanted to marry each other then, but he officially proposed at Disneyland last April 2021 with a very sweet Mickey ring, and asked ‘Can we keep visiting Disneyland forever?” Couple other things about us: We have a baby girl named Phoenix (she will be 11 months at the wedding) We love sequins, color, and patterns. I think we have 10 disco balls in our house? Love to dance, love music festivals, love fun.”
Grace and Ryan were also a referral from my lovely past couple Portia and Jordan. You can see their fun Joshua Tree elopement here.
The Wedding
One word: colorful. Everyone came with the sequins, color, patterns, and the love. Grace and Ryan tied the knot in front of 50 of their closest family and friends. Phoenix their 11 month old baby was also a big hit of the day- you can see her featured throughout below.
Someone bring me back. Grace, Ryan and Hicksville Pines- thank you for having me.
