The Venue

The High Five is located in the heart of Downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. It has this very classy meets modern feel with its exposed brick yet new hardwood floors and chandeliers. A very open loft-like space, it’s whatever you want to make it to be. The big windows exposing the city from every direction was just the cherry on top. I’m not from Michigan but I can tell you we don’t have wedding spaces like this in California. Absolutely breathtaking and unique.

The Couple

I met Paige and Matt the year prior on their vacation to California. Matt found me on Google as a Southern California wedding photographer- someone he was searching for to document his proposal to Paige. With just a few weeks of planning, I met Matt at Sunset Cliffs in San Diego and we pulled off the best surprise proposal to Paige.

And Now Here I am in Michigan

No but seriously. Speechless is what I was when Paige and Matt wanted to fly me out to shoot their wedding after loving those proposal/ engagement photos from San Diego. Then I got pregnant- and they were still on board to fly me out… at 7 months pregnant.

Thank you for taking the baby and I to Grand Rapids, treating me like family, and throwing the most epic party at The High Five. Honored to have been able to document your big day in such a stunning city. Take me back anytime.
